This artwork is my little ode to where I hope to be one day—surrounded by open fields, animals roaming peacefully, and a life in harmony with nature. I’m on this journey from vegetarian to vegan (almost there!) because I believe animals deserve love and respect, not exploitation and cruelty. And with the Melbourne Cup coming up, I can’t ignore how far we are from that vision.
I am disgusted with the people who celebrate and gamble during the Cup. The ones who go dressed to the nines, placing bets on a creature’s life. The glamour will never cover the sheer, despicable violence. The blood of those animals rests in your hands.
The Cup is a brutal reminder of why I’m moving toward a kinder lifestyle—one that’s about compassion over cruelty. This piece isn’t just about saying NUP to the Melbourne Cup; it’s about saying YUP to a future where animals are valued and free.
Here’s to my dream of a kinder world, one Adidas tracksuit at a time.
