Sculpture with Light
Recycled materials, mineral-based sculptural compounds
Approx. 30cm (H) x 30cm (W) x40cm (D)
Don't Call Me Polly is a one-off illuminated sculpture by Kasia Frankowicz, made from recycled materials and mineral-based sculptural compounds. Roughly 30 cm high, 30 cm wide, and 40 cm deep, this piece walks the line between ornament and icon, mockery and reverence.
It riffs on the tradition of decorative figurines — the kind found on dusty mantels or in grandma’s glass cabinet — but flips the script. Lit from within, this isn't your polite porcelain parrot. It’s glowing with attitude, carved with intention, and built from scraps of the now.
Frankowicz’s work often plays in that in-between space: low-brow meets high-brow, past meets present, the familiar gets weird. Don’t Call Me Polly is part rebellion, part homage — a nod to what we’ve inherited and a wink at what we’re becoming.
