I named this painting after the novel On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong. I connected deeply with the way the book reflects on how fragile and brief beauty can be in ordinary moments.

While painting, I kept returning to that idea. A woman resting on a bed that almost feels like waves, held in a quiet moment that might disappear as quickly as it arrived.

I’m offering this work for 50% lower in price than my usual paintings at this size in the hope that it becomes more accessible to someone who connects with it the way I connected with the book.
